Banshee-1 in openSUSE 11.3

Banshee-1 in openSUSE 11.3
I've always had trouble getting Banshee to see the lame encoder for mp3s:(. I once again have lost the ability to rip to mp3s in Banshee-1:|. Well I started to look around and found two different rippers that will do the trick:). “Asunder” and “Audex”. Both will rip to mp3 and are very configurable. “Asunder” can rip multiple file formats at once and it's really fast, “VERY COOL”I can rip mp3, wave, flac and ogg all at the same time if I wanted to:idea:. “Audex” is not quite as fast but still better and more reliable than Grip. It will create a front CD cover pic and a playlist file as well as other data files. I rip my stuff to the desktop and then move it to what ever folder I want to. I can then do a quick add-to in Banshee and all is well. I hope this little tid-bit helps out. 'Till next time, Happy Linuxing! :D

Where's the old page?

Click on the link http://www.wolf-spider.com/roll_back_openSUSE.html to go back and see my old blog page. I will be moving all the old blogs into the Archives soon, but for now if your looking for something that I've posted in the past you will just have to read the old page.

My Son just wrote all the code by hand in a plain text editor for my web site JBD Computers. I really like it. Goto the page and let us know how you like it. I welcome any and all comments and/or criticism.

WTF!!!

WTF Really people, What the F%$# does spastic colons, candles and dog walking have to do with anything on this site? And the comments are short and stupid! Can you say Web Bot? I just had to blog about this because I just spent the last hour deleting these Spam comments. I've made a few changes I hope will keep this down. For one thing all comments are off. The Spam setting are at the highest they will go and some other behind the scenes stuff has been done as well. Let me make this very clear. This my site for me to rant and rave about what is on my mind. I put it up so it would look a little nicer. If you want to blog, you have to sign up and then I have to give you the user rights later. If you put crap on this site I'll delete it and your account. :>

All the New Stuff

Well, I have installed openSUSE 11.2 and everything works very well. I also have installed as a VM Ubuntu 9.10 and openSUSE 64 bit as well as fedora 12. They all work well. Most of the bugs have been worked out in all of these distros. If your a hard core Linux user I still recommend Slackware 13 64 bit. It's got everything you could possible need for development tools as well as being the best distro I can think of to really learn what Linux is all about. I have also tried the latest open solaris. I am not impressed. It's still buggy and Linux has it beat hands down. If you insist on running a true Unix I would stick to FreeBSD. I will post more as I go. Until then, Happy Linuxing!
P.S. Windows 7 is much better then Vista. If your going to keep using Windows, please upgrade to 7, you will not regret it.
